On-Page Optimization Methods

on-page optimization

Some of the few on-page optimization methods are listed below:

1. Title:

title

Title helps boyh the user and search engine to understand the content. Its written within the Head  tag. Title should be unique. Text Field capacity of google is 70 pixel, width of each keyword is different. 512 pixel width can be given for google seo title. 55-60 characters can be given to seo title and the title should be more than 3 characters. It should be unique and impressive.

2. Meta Description Tag:

meta tag

Meta description tag gives a brief summary on what the page is about. It can have a sentence or a paragraph. Meta tag is placed within the header section. Google use them as snippet (Text displayed below the title of a corresponding web page on the search results). Words in the snippet are bolded when they matches the user's query, this gives the user a clue about whether the content on the page suites with what the user look for.

3. Anchor Tag:

anchor tag
It's the clickable text that the user see as a result of a link, and it is placed within the anchor tag.

4. Image Optimization:

Image should be given distinct file name and alt attribute. Alt attribute allows  to include the alternative text for the image if it cannot be displayed for certain reason and it also provides the information about the image.

5. Keyword Optimization:

Main point is to use the keyword as much as possible. Here we are comming across a new term called keyword density. Its defined as the number of times the keyword used in our content. Other methods are by adding bold lines in the large content. Other method is by presenting keyword in grey color. Our focusing keyword should be added before comma or fullstop.

History and Evolution of Search Engine Optimization

 History and Evolution of SEO

This article is about the History and Evolution of Search Engine Optimization.
Search Engine Optimization is a process of affecting the apparency of a website or webpage in a web search engines results. Before going to the topic in detail lets have a glance on the history of google.Google was a project done by two Phd students named Larry Page and Sergy Brin at Stanford University during the year 1996.

History and Evolution of SEO
In the beginning result searched in the google was send to users mail id. By 2001 google became famous. September 11,2001 was a remarkable date in the history of google which lead to the development of google as a search engine. On this day a big tragedy which took the breath of USA occured. It was on this day that the World Trade Center was demolished by Al-Qaeda. Destruction of World Trade Center has a relation with SEO ie, when this incident happend people tried to get more information about it,but the google could'nt give any detailed information about that topic. This was a degradation for google, as a result the cheifs of google gathered a meeting. The main question asked in meeting was how to make website crawlable? Before going to the answer in detail let us understand the google's searching technique. There are 3 steps: Crawling,Catching and Indexing.

Crawling is similar to scanning. If google gets a new webpage it goes through it by scanning it and takes a screenshot. Next step is Catching. In this step the screenshot taken is during crawling is placed in database based on the category. Last step is Indexing, data is retrieved based on the requested category or result. Now let us go back to the question that was asked during discussion. Many suggestions were stated but the best suggestion was Google cannot do but webmaster can. Now you will be thinking of webmaster and his role... Definition for webmaster is the person who maintain a particular website. Atlast google decided to reveal their optimization technique and they published 'SEO starters guide' a pdf which describes about the optimization technique.

In the beginning search engine was niche specific ie, content specific. It depends on the occurance of keyword in the website. For the ranking purpose people began to use the method called Keyword Stuffing. Keyword stuffing is a black hat seo technique[non ethical practise]. This is done by entering keyword in blankspace and making it background color or reducing pixel siz to 1.

Before 8 years google supported the concept of keyword meta tag but after that google stopped supporting of meta tag. An article about this was published in webmaster central blog of 21 sept,2008. Concept of meta tag is still used in youtube. Due to a large increase in black hat seo's google changed from niche specific to link specific. Website that get maximum link will be ranked high. Even then there was no progress in the quality of website so gradually google changed from link specific to quality link specific, for that google introduced the concept of page ranking which was introduced and named after Lorry Pages. Page rank was Trust worthy. Important page rank feature was Link quality. Till last year page rank was visible but now it is kept hidden. Last page rank updation was done on 6 December, 2013 and the twitter had the highest ranking because it has large activities carried out. Other one of the top ranked site was US Government website.

A new mchanism called 'Passing The Juice' was introduced by google. Its the mechanism where high ranked webpages sharing the rank with less ranked sites for money. Google also introduced a new mechanism called 'no follow' to avoid reduction of loosing rank or to avoid equity. If we are sharing link with high ranked website 'no follow' is not compulsary. Even though google has became so much popular and advanced it is afraid to do any updation becase whenever updation is done it has face a huge loss for google p.p.c.
History and Evolution of SEO-google adsense

Google Adwords is an online advertising process developed by google. It played an important role in the development of google.  AdWords' system is based on cookies and  keywords determined by advertisers. Advertisers pay when users click on the advertising copy and this is called CPC or click per cost. Partner websites receive a portion of the income.  Google Adsense is the other program run by google to perform automatic text, image, video etc that are targeted to audience. it performs based on cpc.

By 2009 they didn't google only to search engine, they extended it's feature to act as personal assistant. For this they made search system interactive. From 2009 ranking was interaction oriented.
Pogo sticking was the another interesting feature added by google. By 2010 social medias like facebook became more influenced, therefore social media ranking was introduced. According to
this ranking of websites increases for the one's that shares with social media. Gradually users began to share with social media for more ranking. Subsequently google began to support pages that not only shares with social media but also the one's with more interaction.
